Originally published in the eighteenth century, The False Knight Outwitted or The Outlandish Knight tells a tale of an ill-intended Knight who seeks to fool a princess out of her wealth, innocence and heritage. One of the story's most famous versions, Lady Isabel and the Elf-Knight, became the inspiration for this loosely-adapted mini-comic.

We sought to reinvigorate the tale with this project, providing yet another interpretation. Lady Isabel is Princess Wynnflaed Oakheart and the Elf-Knight is an Elven Knight, known only as Eormenhild of Seacliffe. The world within the story continued to grow then: House Oakheart is the steward of one of the last Human Kingdoms... and Eormenhild... a charming assassin.
